6th Grade Coordinators

Got a 6th Grader at Delevan? Are they excited about the Science Camp Field Trip, 6th Grade Picnic, and Culmination? We are too! To ensure that they get there and enjoy a year of fun, we need a committee to help our 6th Grade Chair with a few fundraiser activities. So let's show them what a community can do together.

A. Back to School Night Concessions Table: Need 1 more person.

B. Spring School Dance Concessions & Favors: Need 2 people.

C. Sell/Make Holiday VIP Tickets: Need 2 more people.

D. 6th Grade Field Trip (duties TBD): Need 2 people.

Commitment: 1 week focus on 6th grade field trip. A few hours for each event above.

PTA Reflections Chair - 2024/25 Theme: “Accepting Imperfection”

National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. If you feel passionate about the arts and want to encourage our students to show off their talents, the Reflections Chair position is open and waiting for you. This PTA-sponsored Arts Program asks students to submit work in their chosen medium. Your job is to promote entries, coordinate with a committee to help judge the work, and even help organize a recognition ceremony.

Arts categories that will be exploring the “Accepting Imperfection” theme:

Visual Arts
Photography
Literature
Film Production
Dance Choreography
Music Composition

Commitment: Up to 5 hours/week for 5 weeks.

Fundraising Chair / Committee

Help put the “fun” into fundraising. Koalathon, our biggest fundraiser of the year is covered, but we’d love to hear your ideas for fundraising and getting the community to participate.

Commitment: As much or as little involvement as you’d like.

Campus Greenification Committee

Do you have a green thumb? We need you! Our Campus Greenification Team and Garden Club are looking for support. Despite the bulldozers and construction in the back, Delevan’s garden is alive and thriving. However, we need more help with watering, weeding, supporting Garden Club meetups after school, and promoting Earth Day as a year-round event.

A. Organizing a clean-up day around perimeter of the school

B. Watering our beds & trees, light weeding, planting as needed
Requirement: LAUSD Volunteer clearance.

C. Assisting Garden Club after-school in preparing activities.

D. Earth Day activities in April 2025.

Commitment: As much or as little involvement as you’d like. Year-round.

Family Dance Chair

If you know, you know—the family dance is so much fun for the kids and the parents! It’s a night of dancing, singing, and glowing with delight in our auditorium. Students choose the theme, we take part in the fun.

Looking for volunteers for the following:

A. Coordinate with Student Government and Staff.
Submit paperwork for the permit to get this dance party started.

B. Food Truck Coordinator: Take the lead on 2 Food Trucks of your choice or bring back the ones from last year’s event.

C. Decorations: Order decorations and help with setup. You’ll have a budget to work with and a team of volunteers to help on the day of the Family Dance

D. Volunteers: We need 2 chaperones inside the dance area at all times, 4 people to walk around to ensure things are running smoothly, and a Clean Up Crew of 10+ to get it wrapped up in a snap.

Commitment: March/Springtime, 0-3 hours per week, 4 weeks.

SK8 Night Chair

This is a Delevan favorite! Help organize a fun night of skating and music at the Moonlight Rollerway. You’ll have support and guidance along the way.

Commitment: January. 1-4 hours total to plan the event.
